The Water

(modern poetry) (Sohrab Sepehri) (the Green Space)

Don’t silt water

Maybe a pigeon drinks water

Or maybe a bird is washing its wings

Or in the village a cruse is filling (to drink)

Don’t silt water

Maybe this smooth water is going under a poplar to clear a heart’s sadness

Maybe a poor is entering a dry bread in water (to eat)

A beautiful woman came near water

Don’t silt water. The beautiful face have been two times more

Such tasty water

Such a soft river

Good people has candor

Their springs be full. Their cows have milk

L haven’t seen their village

Certainly god’s track is on their hedges

-

Certainly in their village walls are short

A flower opens, every one know

Such a village

The alleys are full of music sound

They understand water

They didn’t silt it

We should not silt it too
